Tanya Northcott
A teacher and pioneer in the delivery of eLearning in the early 1980s, Tanya became a founding principal for Pathfinder Learning Systems Inc., where she inspired early adoption leaders in education and training, in the creative and successful implementation of Computer Managed Learning systems – often in poorly funded urban education programs as well as remote and indigenous communities.
In 1999, Tanya founded Odyssey Learning Systems Inc. Today, the company’s flagship product Nautikos™ delivers and services effective eLearning onsite or online, with or without the Internet, using paper-based, digital or blended learning resources in any language. Believing that learning is fundamental to human growth and productivity, Odyssey’s business model focuses on global learning, customized to reflect local level needs.
As a child growing up in 32 countries and attending 11 schools, Tanya became fascinated by the inequities and diversity of learning around the world. When first exposed to technology, she quickly came to see quantitative and powerful results, and soon became driven with the potential to overcome the “digital divide” through sustainable learning. Today through the application of flexible and inclusive educational technologies, Tanya works to support “digital dividends” for a rich and diverse learning universe.
