Telementoring Orchestrator™

Telementoring Orchestrator™ is a server-side web application, designed to aid any sort of organization (a corporation, university, school or nonprofit society) in efficiently organizing and monitoring online mentoring relationships. Possible uses include:

  • Matching new employees with more senior counterparts for ongoing advice on settling in
  • Matching students in an academic program with successful alumni for career guidance
  • Matching new volunteers with seasoned peers to get them up to speed faster

Because Telementoring Orchestrator™ works on the web, mentors and mentees do not need to be in the same location. Wherever expertise is and wherever it is needed, Telementoring Orchestrator™ can work with you to maximize its potential. The software was developed at Simon Fraser University, with funding from Human Resources Development Canada. Its design is based on years of field-based research. Features include:

  • Web-based recruiting to your mentor pool
  • Flexible searching of your mentor pool by any number of mentoring coordinators in any location
  • Batch emailing of invitations to prospective mentors
  • Automatic tracking of the status of each invitation (accepted, rejected, or pending)
  • “Check-out” of assigned mentors to avoid mentor overload and burnout
  • Anonymous forwarding and logging of mentor-mentee email through an integrated email router
